Reel Ear grew out of the ear training program at Reel Space Irish Music School in Valencia, Spain.
The cornerstone of the educational philosophy at Reel Space is "play with your ears, not with your eyes" and all their classes are taught entirely by ear.
The staff at Reel Space are constantly looking for ways to take advantage of the latest technology to give their students every edge in their musical education. Recently they have launched an online Irish music program as well as adopted the konnakol system of vocal percussion from south India for use in Western music. You can check out the school here.

Mattie is currently director of Reel Space Irish Music School in Valencia, Spain.
Reel Ear grew out of Mattie's work as a musician and educator.
He dreamed up the software, defined its educational and user experience goals, and then went looking for a software engineer who could take his idea of "infinite melodies based on a fixed set of user controlled variables", and make it a reality....

Christopher, aka "seejayjames", is a keyboardist, digital artist and computer programmer. He holds a B.A. in Music in Composition, a masters degree in Arts Technology, and is currently pursuing his doctorate in Education.
He is the software engineer who took Mattie's goals and ideas and translated them into a kick butt computer application.
